U.S. SENATE UNANIMOUSLY OPPOSES

 HAMAS CONTROL OVER GAZA

On March 13, 2025, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a bipartisan resolution affirming that Hamas must not retain any political or military control over the Gaza Strip. The resolution was introduced by Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Jackie Rosen (D-NV), Katie Britt (R-AL), and John Fetterman (D-PA).

The resolution emphasizes that Hamas, designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, should not govern Gaza. It calls upon the President to utilize economic and diplomatic measures to halt funding for Hamas from Iran and other sources. Additionally, it expresses strong support for Israel's right to defend itself against threats from Hamas, Iran, and Iranian proxies.

Senator Graham praised the Senate's unified stance, stating, "I am very pleased the entire U.S. Senate spoke with moral clarity when it comes to the barbaric terrorist organization called Hamas. With one voice, the Senate said Hamas cannot be in charge of Gaza militarily or politically ever again. That is the right and only answer. I am very proud of my Senate colleagues," Senator Blumenthal described Hamas as a significant barrier to peace and stability, stressing their role in the October 7 massacre.

Senator Cotton underscored the necessity of supporting Israel, labeling Hamas as "a group of murderous terrorists with American and Israeli blood on their hands." Senator Rosen highlighted the atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7, expressing pride in supporting the resolution.

Senator Britt emphasized the importance of cutting off funding sources for Iranian-backed terrorists, while Senator Fetterman reiterated his commitment to Israel's right to self-defense against Hamas.

This resolution reflects the Senate's collective stance against Hamas's control over Gaza and reinforces the United States' support for Israel's security and sovereignty.
