At a White House Easter lunch on April 1, 2026, Donald Trump argued the United States cannot afford daycare, Medicare, and Medicaid while fighting his wars.

He stated:

"It's not possible for us to take care of daycare. Medicaid, Medicare, all these individual things.

"We have to take care of one thing, military protection, we have to guard the country.”

It is important to note that this statement will lead to significant American civilian deaths at home. It is also a total violation of his 2024 campaign promises
