NAMIBIA CONDEMNS GERMANY'S

DEFENSE OF ISRAEL

The President of Namibia, a country located on the southwestern coast of Africa, condemns Germany's defense of Israel on the genocide accusations in last week's International Court of Justice (ICJ) hearings. Namibia, once under German colonial rule, suffered the first genocide of the 20th century, taking place against the Indigenous Herero and Nama peoples between 1904 and 1908, with Germany killing more than 70,000. "Germany cannot morally express commitment to the United Nations Convention against genocide, including atonement for the genocide in Namibia, whilst supporting the equivalent of a holocaust and genocide in Gaza," said President Geingob in a post on X. He also says that Germany has "rejected the morally upright indictment" brought forward by South Africa.
