Everyone has a right to demonstrate in defense of their political opinion. However, everyone does not to personally harass every person they disagree with.
Threats against individual politicians have no place in US politics. Indeed, efforts at personal confrontation move toward the very thin line of violence toward elected officials.
The recent attacks on Senators Sinema and Manchin are totally unacceptable and could lead towards potential violence
We are specifically talking about when protesters chased Senator Sinema into a bathroom when she did not commit to voting for Biden's Build Back Better plan.
An even more dangerous situation took place when protesters blockaded Senator Manchin in his car for not supporting Biden's Build Back Better plan, or when they harassed Manchin at his yacht.
We are not saying that we agree with the politicians mentioned in this article. But we have to speak out and say the behavior mentioned above crosses a line. This can put the lives of both the protesters and the people being protested in jeopardy.
