TIME TO STOP BIDEN'S PLAN
TO ENRICH A FORMER BIDEN STAFF MEMBER
AND KILL MILLIONS OF AFGHAN CIVILIANS
In 2021 Joe Biden abandoned the Afghan government. By pulling out U.S. support he made a Taliban victory certain. Idiotically his staff repeatedly claimed everything was fine until it all collapsed in disaster.
While the Taliban showed it was willing to negotiate, Biden still cut off all aid and froze $7 billion in Afghan assets. Since the Afghan government was largely dependent on aid, this was a death sentence for their people. President Joe Biden’s refusal over the past year to allow Afghanistan's central bank access to its own reserves has caused an economic crisis that has pushed most of the population into extreme poverty and malnutrition.
Afghanistan is currently experiencing a humanitarian disaster. The head of the World Food Programme describes the situation as “hell on earth.”
Instead of giving the Afghan people direct access to their money, the Biden Administration has recently developed a plan for $3.5 billion of the money that some have described as a "shell game." The Biden Administration is working with Switzerland and Afghan economists to set up a new fund, the "Afghan Fund," with plans to put $3.5 billion of the frozen money back into Afghanistan's economy. However, U.S. officials state that the money won’t be released imminently to an institution in Afghanistan because there is no trusted institution to guarantee the funds will benefit the Afghan people (CNN, 9-14-22). Instead, the money will be administered by an outside body, independent of the Taliban and the country’s central bank.
Economist Andrés Arauz describes Biden’s plan as a “terrible idea” (Center for Economic and Policy Research). He explains that a working economy requires a functional central bank that has access to its own money.
And what will happen to the other part of Afghanistan's money? A fancy lawyer who worked for Biden has apparently gotten Biden to support a deal where his law firm can cash in on a giant $3.5 billion "settlement" that supposedly helps 9/11 victims. This money does not belong to Biden. It belongs to the Afghan people.
The Afghan people are in a state of crisis. They need to get all of their money back as soon as possible.
Biden has made little effort to negotiate with the Taliban other than dishing up some vague talk about somehow "helping" the Afghan people without sending money to the government. This position is a total fraud. Like the Taliban or not they run the government now thanks to Biden. The Afghan people need government services like hospitals and so on.
The total collapse of the Afghan nation will kill millions and set in motion a geopolitical disaster of the first order since it will send a tidal wave of chaos into Pakistan, a nuclear state.
The UN has called on Biden to return this money to the Afghan people. On August 29th, 2022, the United Nations aid chief led calls for a resumption of the humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan that ended after the Taliban reconquered the war-ravaged nation one year ago—pleas that came as millions of Afghans face famine. (United Nations, 8-29-22).

Biden needs to be given an ultimatum. Start negotiating with the Taliban and get money to the Afghan people. Repudiate the dirty deal with Biden staff member's law firm. We don't like the Taliban but serious negotiations might correct their unhappy human right record. Concerning accusations of terrorism, there is truth here even though the Taliban had little to do with 9/11. But a far greater act of terrorism would be the deliberate mass murder of millions of Afghans.
