Thousands Gather to Demand Ceasefire
On Saturday, January 13, 2024, The March on Washington for Gaza, coinciding with the nearly 100 days of the war, took place, with hundreds of thousands gathering in protest to call for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), and other groups organized the protest, with CAIR claiming more than 400,000 were in attendance. State Rep. Iman Jodeh, Cornel West, Jill Stein, and former State Department official Josh Paul were among the orators that day.
