On April 5, 2025, Dr. Omar Suleiman, Founder and President
of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, delivered a powerful speech at the
“Stop the Genocide” rally in Washington, D.C. The event, part of a large-scale
protest against the ongoing violence in Gaza, drew thousands of demonstrators
demanding an immediate ceasefire and accountability for what organizers
described as crimes against humanity.
Dr. Suleiman condemned the international community’s silence and emphasized
moral urgency, calling on citizens and policymakers to take a stand against the
oppression of Palestinians. He also criticized U.S. political leadership—both
current and past—for enabling the violence through continued military and
diplomatic support of Israel.
The “Stop the Genocide” event was a significant moment in the broader movement
advocating for Palestinian rights, uniting voices from various faiths and
communities to call for justice, peace, and an end to the bloodshed.
