Should Senator Ted Cruz be allowed to do serious damage to US foreign policy?
Should Senator Ted Cruz currently has plans to hold more than two dozen nominees for the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development from being appointed. Ted Cruz also plans to hold the ambassadors to Somalia, Algeria, Cameroon, Vietnam, the Republic of Congo, Lesotho and Mexico, as well as the assistance secretaries of state for Africa, Europe, South Asia, and East Asia. Not only is he halting these positions but he is also halting the conflict stabilization operations, consular affairs diplomatic security, international organizations, political-military affairs, the undersecretary of state for energy and economics, and the State Departments chief of protocol.
Why is he doing this? Even though the Nordstream II gas pipeline from Russia to Germany has been completed, Cruz is still trying to attack it, which is a grave threat to US relations with Germany.
It is also a dangerous provocation to Russia.
The Biden administration should stand firm and refuse to give in to the blackmail of Ted Cruz.
