EPA WORKERS PROTEST

 TRUMP POLICIES

Over 200 current and former EPA employees have signed a formal “Declaration of Dissent,” criticizing the Trump-era policies that are now being reinstated under Administrator Lee Zeldin. Over 180 signers went public by name, while others signed anonymously. The letter, supported by more than 20 Nobel laureates, accuses the administration of undermining the EPA’s mission by prioritizing political and industrial interests over science and public health.

The declaration discusses five key concerns: loss of public trust, disregard for scientific consensus, reversal of environmental justice efforts, dismantling the EPA’s research division, and fostering a culture of fear within the agency. Since taking office in early 2025, Zeldin has led a sweeping deregulatory push, rolling back climate, air, and water protections, and proposing deep budget cuts, including the elimination of the Office of Research & Development.

The nonprofit Stand Up for Science is hosting the declaration and inviting the public to support it. Staff warn that continued rollbacks could have serious health and environmental consequences, especially for vulnerable communities. They urge the administration to restore the EPA’s science-based mission before more irreversible damage is done.
